Check the following information with Contractors State Licence Board (CSLB):
* Licence number and contractor match
* How many years in business.
* Does contractor have worker compensation insurance
* Complaints, violations or judgements against contractor

Your landscape project from design to completion should be an enjoyable experience. The contractor you select should be knowlegable, easy to work with and have the proper resources to build your beautiful landscape on budget and in a timely manor.
The following are a few things you can do to insure your landscape project is a fun process and exceeds your expectations.
Ask potential contractors for three or four local references. These references should be aged one year old, three years old , five years old, and one that is brand new. This will allow you to see how the projects hold up over time, how the plant material fills in and how the contractor is to deal with after the job has been completed. Personally visit these references to look at the work and ask questions.
